Chairman and Founder – Mr George T. F. Ujvary

George Snr, as he is commonly known, started Olga’s Fine Foods in 1978 and to this day remains involved. With his invaluable knowledge of our products and services, he is responsible for many of the innovations that have kept Olga’s Fine Foods at the forefront of the meat manufacturing industry in Australia for three decades.

Managing Director – Dr George R. Ujvary

George is the second generation in the Ujvary family to lead the Olga’s Fine Foods team. He joined Olga’s Fine Foods in January 2002. Following a BA (Hons) in Physiology from Oxford University, George went on to obtain an MSc in Exercise Physiology from Adelaide University and PhD in Cardio-Respiratory Physiology from the University of Oxford. He is a Food Safety Auditor and is also involved in the area of Quality Assurance and IT. His scientific background has assisted the company in the development of innovative products and he is currently undertaking further studies in business management and economics.

George is an active member of the food industry in South Australia, and in 2006, was awarded scholarships from the Food Media Club of Australia and the International Association of Culinary Professionals for the Le Cordon Bleu MA in Gastronomy at the University of Adelaide.

In 2008, he was the recipient of the KPMG Young Achiever’s prize at the 2008 South Australian Premier’s Food Awards.

In his spare time, George is a keen cook, photographer and food blogger.
